iPod Wireless Speakers and Headphones

By Hazel Knox

The iPod appears to have induced a certain trend in the consumer electronics industry as many companies in the marketplace rushed to manufacture accessories for the little device that lets you take music with you wherever you go. Speakers and headphones were among the first choices as iPod accessories for consumer electronics companies. The next step was wireless speakers and headphones to enable more freedom of movement. We will attempt to talk about the pros and cons of wireless peripherals for the iPod and also the models that each wireless component works with.

Logitech Logitech began marketing in 2005 a wireless headphone unit that works with any model of iPod which has a dock connector on the base. This feature is standard on all new models and is available on older models as well. The headphones make use of Bluetooth technology to connect to the iPod through an adapter which transmits the signal. They come with rechargeable batteries that allegedly can play up to eight hours of music per charge.

The wireless headset is very light and weighs only 3.2 ounces, with the adapter unit weighing less than an ounce. iPod controls are provided on one of the earpieces, so there's no need to return to the iPod to adjust the volume or move through the play list. The iPod can be left sitting on a counter or on a desk, and the headphones will pick up the signal for up to thirty feet away.

Logitech also markets a wireless music receiver and transmitter that turns your current stereo into a receiver and set of speakers for your iPod. It comes with its own rechargeable batteries therefore it does not drain your iPod. The receiver unit merely plugs into your stereo system and the transmitter onto your iPod. The system works with any iPod or MP3 player with a standard 3.5mm headphone output.

The benefit of this system is that you can use it to make your existing speakers wireless without having to purchase additional equipment. It's easy to plug in and use so you can easily move to other rooms in the house. The only disadvantage is the 30-feet distance restriction between the receiver and the transmitter.

Macally Macally created a Bluetooth based BlueWave iPod headset that connects to the iPod by means of a transmitter plugged into the iPod's headphone port. One problem with the BlueWave system is that the transmitter unit doesn't use the iPod's connector for power but two non-rechargeable AAA batteries. Another problem would be the plastic notch situated by the headphone jack that inhibits the transmitter from wobbling on the iPod's top and which you'll have to take out if you own an iPod shuffle or a first or second generation iPod.

The signal's range should be about 30 feet however it differs greatly depending on the environment you're in, especially if doors or walls stand in the way. The headphones can provide up to 8 hours of interrupted music based on volume level and other factors. They are also powered by 2 non-rechargeable AAA batteries.

With the BlueWave system, you can also wirelessly stream music from your iPod by connecting the headphones to the home speaker system with a RCA patch cable that fits in the line-out jack from the headphones.

Oregon Scientific Oregon Scientific released in 2005 a really interesting wireless speaker system created for the iPod, the iBall. The speaker is in the shape of a bowling ball and it connects to a transmitter dock, that holds the iPod, through 2.4 Ghz wireless technology, with adaptive frequency hopping spread spectrum. The signal range should be up to one hundred feet and the rechargeable batteries provide up to 8 hours of music on one charge. It's compatible with iPods, iPod photos, iPod nanos, and iPod minis.

The iBall has a built-in remote for the iPod which you are able to use even if the iPod is not in the room. The speaker has a round LCD display which you can make use of to change volume and skip tracks, determine the time, wireless signal strength, battery power, play/pause status.

Wi-Gear The iMuffs from Wi-Gear are wireless headphones made especially for the iPod but with a twist. They use Bluetooth technology to connect wirelessly to both your iPod and your Bluetooth enabled phone, so you are able to make use of them as a wireless headset for the cell phone. When you receive a call, the iMuffs pause the music on the iPod, ring in the headphones and permit you to speak in the integrated microphone.

The iMuffs system has a small receiver that hooks on top of the iPod and includes a rechargeable battery which gives up to 12 hours of interrupted music. As expected with Bluetooth, the iMuffs headphones can get the signal in the thirty feet signal range. They likewise feature iPod controls on each earpiece for pause, volume, skip and search.

Sometime soon, the market of wireless headphones and speakers for the iPod will become a bigger share of the overall iPod accessories market, as the signal range will increase, the audio output quality will get better and the batteries the manufacturers use for power will allow more hours of playtime.

Why Setting Up Internal Links is So Important

By Josh Martin

How to Setup Internal Links Within Your Website.

Internal links are hyperlinks the point to specific pages within a website. If you want your website to have more credibility and exposure then you want to link to multiple pages within that site. If your site has multiple links to different pages within the site then it makes it look more legitimate.

Where to Add Internal Links

Setting up links within your site is very easy to do. Just take several of your different keywords that are in your articles and create a hyperlink that links to other pages within your website that relates to those keywords.

It's important to make your keyword into a hyperlink rather than posting multiple url's in your articles. Search engines take special notice to the amount of keywords that link to various pages in your site. Url's don't carry as much weight with the search engines.

If you have other sites that you want to promote then you'll want to setup up links that point to those sites. Even though internal linking is important, you'll want to setup backlinks that promote your other sites as well because backlinks carry a lot of weight with the search engines.

The search engines put a heavy amount of weight on the number of links that point to a website. If there's a lot of backlinks that point to a particular website then that shows the search engines that the website is important and relevant.

On top of setting up internal links you'll want to make sure that you set up links to other sites that you own as well.

If you are running your website on WordPress then I highly recommend using a plugin called Seo Pressor because it will remind you to set up an internal link on every post. Also, Seo Pressor will make sure that you set up h1, h2, and h3 tags on every post, add rel="nofollow" to external links, add an image with alt tag set to your keyword, and it will automatically bold, italicize, and underline your keyword. These are all critical elements to follow in order to achieve top seo rankings.

Just remember that your site will look more credible with visitors and the search engines if you have multiple links going to the different pages on your website.

Can Anyone Have Premonitions?

By Mel Decourcey

Do you think you have had a premonition before? How is it that some people know when things are about to happen before it even occurs? Is this just a gut feeling that things are not right or is it paranormal? Scientists have not ever believed in premonitions. They only believe in things that they can prove are facts. They do not believe even though there have been numerous events that have been foretold in a premonition or a feeling prior to it actually occurring.

Do We See the Future?

One extreme example of premonitions is the recordings of Canadian biochemist and professor of psychiatry, Ian Stevenson. He had recorded over 19 premonitions told to him by patients two weeks before the Titanic sailed. The recorded premonitions were of people canceling their trip due to a feeling that something bad was going to happen and from people who dreamt about a disaster.

The people that have had premonitions have said that they are not a pleasant experience. They get overwhelming feelings of fear or uneasiness in regards to what they believe is going to happen. While they have had a premonition they do not know exactly what will happen, only that it will not be good.

Premonitions occur much more often than most people understand. The subject of the premonition is typically surrounding something or someone that will affect you. The premonitions come about in multiple ways. It is sometimes a dream, sometimes a feeling. It is sometimes called a sixth sense.

Premonitions of murders, death, robberies, plane crashes and accidents are predominantly the type that are felt or 'seen'. They often happen within hours of the person having the premonition. The emotional aspects of a dream often leave the person with the most disquieting feelings. They are at a loss as how to explain the impending sense of dread they feel.

Then there are dreams that we have no doubt about the meaning. They are clear and the dreamer sees something happening to a family member or someone close. This can be a very upsetting dream and often people will try to block it from their minds. They may succeed for a while until the dream comes true.

Can premonitions actually be from another world? A premonition is something you see as a dream or a feeling that you get. The apprehension in your life tends to lead to a premonition about things that are yet to come but it is not always clear what it will be. Premonitions are very sense oriented.

What if the premonitions we have are actually something that is happening on another dimension? The premonitions that occur when we are asleep could be the result of being somewhere other than this dimension for the period of time when we are sleeping. This could tie in with the theory of astral projection.

Is it so far fetched to believe this could be happening? There are many who have been ridiculed before for believing in something that at the time seemed impossible. How many people do you think actually believed that man could go to the moon? Had this been discussed in certain times, people would have believed the person who thought this was possible had lost their mind.

How Do You Explain These Premonitions?

Should things be automatically dismissed because they simply do not fit within the way that we think? There have been many different recordings of premonitions in history. Abraham Lincoln actually had a premonition about himself dying. Only ten days prior to dying he had a dream that he was mourning with people in the East Wing in the White House. He turned to a solider to ask who had died and the soldier said it was the president.

Have you heard about the book that was written in 1898, Futility, or the Wreck of the Titan? This book was written 14 years before the disaster of the Titanic. The book was about a ship called the Titan, which sank in the North Atlantic. The ship struck an iceberg - the ship had three propellers - it did not have enough lifeboats - it was the same size as the Titanic - all uncanny characteristics of the Titanic even down to the name.

Morgan Robertson is the author of the book. How is it possible that he wrote about such an experience that would come pretty close to true fourteen years down the road? No matter if you call them visions or premonitions, the events of the book are very similar to the Titanic that actually sunk. Is it possible that the author had a premonition of the event and decided that he would publish it in a book?

It is something that may never be understood. Things unfold from the universe and mysteries are solved in their own time. It is not possible to predict when a premonition, or vision, will be shown to someone.

A review of the Otterbox iPhone 4 Etched Impact Case

By Ahsan Currimbhoy

Since Apple first released the iPhone in 2007, it has grown to become the most popular smartphone on the U.S market. The one thing which made the iPhone stand out from the competition was that it was the first ever multi-touch capacitive touchscreen smartphone. And since the release of the first iteration of the iPhone, the market for capacitive touchscreen smartphones has grown enormously. Many competitors including HTC, RIM, Palm, Samsung, Motorola and more have since released products which would rival the iPhone. Apple knew that in order to remain on top, they had to make the fourth iteration of their hot selling smartphone far superior to any of the previous iterations of this product, and they did just that with the iPhone 4.

The Apple iPhone 4 features the same powerful 1GHz A4 processor found on the iPad, a beautiful 3.5" display with a 960x640 resolution, the highest resolution found on any smartphone on the market, a front facing camera for video calls (as well as FaceTime, their own videoconferencing software), and a 5MP camera with flash capable of recording video up to a resolution of 720p. The powerful processor along with the gorgeous display and the smoothness of Apple's smartphone operating system, iOS is what makes the iPhone 4 deliver a positive user experience.

One thing about the iPhone is that due to the popularity and how advanced the device is, the resale value tends to hold very well. Whenever an iPhone 4 user will be ready to upgrade to their next phone, they should be able to sell their iPhone 4 and use that money to pay for their next phone (with 2-year contract), perhaps even a future iteration of the iPhone. But in order to maximize the resale value of the phone, the smartest thing to do is to purchase a case in order to keep it in like new condition.

As somebody who has used many smartphones and tested many cases, there is no brand which I prefer over Otterbox. The quality of their cases can be seen by how durable they are along with the great feel of the case and innovative designs. This particular Otterbox case is a part of their impact lineup which offers extra layers of protection and is built to be a great heavy duty yet stylish case.

This case can offer strong protection for your phone from scratches, scuffs, dust, bumps, cracks and minor falls. This case is custom designed for the iPhone 4 and includes cutouts for all ports, buttons and cameras. This case also offers a textured skin for amazing grip. And it is available in nine designs including a red heart, teal lion, orange floral, green floral, pink hummingbird, blue wheat floral, black skull, black lines and purple circled lines. If you are looking for ultimate protection for your powerful smartphone, then look no further than this Otterbox impact case.
